The information made available in this database comes directly from the Comptroller's records center. This live database is meant to provide a better understanding of where state tax dollars go, and which organizations have grants with the State of Illinois.
Grants are defined in the Illinois Procurement Code (30 ILCS 500/1-15.42) as state funding to any person to support a program authorized by law. It does not include an award in which the primary purpose is to procure an end product for the direct benefit or use of the State agency making the grant, whether for goods, services or construction. A contract that results from such an award is not a grant and is subject to this code.
This grant database does not include state agreements that are coded as "contracts". The initiating state agency codes each state agreement prior to submission to the Comptroller's Office. A separate contract database is available that contains those types of agreements.
Current fiscal year state grants are listed and can be sorted in ascending or descending order by category, using the arrows below.
Conduct a search for a specific grant by entering the vendor name in the box, and clicking the "Find State Grants" button. Search for a grant from a previous fiscal year by using the drop-down menu marked "FY".
Searches may take up to several minutes to complete. You may also choose to download the entire document by clicking on the "Download" button.
If you need more information, or have a question regarding a state grant, click on the specific "Grant Number" you are researching. An automatic FOIA request will be generated. Please take the time to fill in the necessary information, and then send to Office of the Comptroller.
